Restored Hope Ministeries

Restored Hope Ministries is a non-profit organization that aims to rescue, restore, and heal women and their children who have been affected by the adverse conditions of life that include sexual exploitation and trafficking, human slavery, sexual abuse, poverty, domestic violence, homelessness, and interaction with the criminal justice system, through education and unconditional love.

The program provides 12 to 18 months of transitional housing with spiritual and physical self-help programs, including Celebrate Recovery, Financial Peace University, group-talk, computer skills classes, budgeting, GED, parenting, legal services, medical and dental services, dance and exercise classes, and job preparedness classes.

Participants are provided with a mentor and a professional counselor who stay with them through graduation, all at no charge to them.

The organization’s primary fundraising event, held in Dallas each September, is well attended by charitable individuals and organizations.  It features a dinner, and an auction, both live and silent, during which a variety of contributed items are made available to the guests.  Woodturned items that are donated from across the region have historically brought as much as $1200 each for Restored Hope.  All types and sizes of woodturned items are welcome.

Project details:

  • Woodturned items may be anything the turner chooses, i.e. bowls, platters, pens, decorations, etc.

When/how to contribute:

  • Turned items may be given to any Board member at any time.  They will then be collected by Alain Schwarz for delivery to Restored Hope.

HCW Collection Coordinator(s):  Alain Schwarz

Additional Comments:

  • Several HCW members contributed a total of 12-15 items to this worthy cause in 2023.
