About the event
This school is designed for the beginning turner and will be taught by expert turners from the Hunt County Woodturners and Golden Triangle Woodturners. Â Students are not required to have previous turning experience. Â Class size is limited to 10 students.
The school will provide to each student a fully equipped lathe, all wood materials that will be used during the two day school, as well as the hands-on expert instruction to learn the basic woodturning skills.
Students must provide their own woodturning tools and a safety face shield that meets the ANSI Z87+ (High Impact) standard. Students may also wish to bring a dust mask as well. Â A basic set of tools and safety face shield can be found for purchase online on many sites, as well at your local Rockler store. Â A recommended basic set of woodturning tools would at least include a bowl gouge, spindle gouge, skew chisel, spindle roughing gouge, and parting tool.
Woodturning safety is always a high priority. Â Students must review the Woodturning Safety Tips prior to attending the first day of this training. Â Access this Safety Tips document by clicking https://drive.google.com/file/d/13OB_LIsxrZT8hmNg6S4yyPRa4x2b9tmv/view?usp=sharing.
This event is a collaborative initiative between Hunt County Woodturners in Greenville, Golden Triangle Woodturners in Denton, and the Rockler store in Frisco.
