About the event
This school is avaiilable for Hunt County Members only. It is designed for the beginning turner and will be taught by expert turners from the Hunt County Woodturners. Students are not required to have previous turning experience. Class size is limited to 10 students.
At a bargain price of just $150, this 9-5 two-day school will provide to each student a fully equipped lathe, all wood materials, as well as the hands-on expert instruction to learn and practice basic woodturning skills.
Students must provide their own woodturning tools and a safety face shield that meets the ANSI Z87+ (High Impact) standard. Students may also wish to bring a dust mask as well. A basic set of tools and safety face shield can be found for purchase online on many sites, as well at your local Rockler store. A recommended basic set of woodturning tools would at least include a bowl gouge, spindle gouge, skew chisel, spindle roughing gouge, and parting tool.
Woodturning safety is always a high priority. Students must review the Woodturning Safety Tips prior to attending the first day of this training. Access this Safety Tips document by clicking https://drive.google.com/file/d/13OB_LIsxrZT8hmNg6S4yyPRa4x2b9tmv/view?usp=sharing.
In the interest of all attendees, and to the extent possible, COVID safety measures will be folllowed. Any questions or concerns regarding COVID safety measures should be directed to Donna Frazier at (214) 499-2336.
